Soltan Banoo opened its doors in March of 2003. Before that, Mahin and her two daughters Roxanne and Sanam ran Cafe Caspian across the street. Cafe Caspian, a tiny two room cafe came about throught the encouragement of the community for Mahin to express her creativity and cooking.

The girls soon joined in and had to quit their day jobs to help mom run what had become a restaurant. With only 20 seats and lots of people waiting, Cafe Caspian just had to expand; so when Waltz properties wanted to move, the trio moved operations across the street.Now they work hard everyday to make Soltan Banoo as inviting as the old place with more recipes and tastier dishes.

Our focus is to create a warm place for our friends and neighbors to gather. We want to feed our guests the same healthy foods that we feed ourselves and our families (even the newest addition, Alex who only has 6 teeth!)

We are pleased to be a part of the University Heights community and look forward to many more years of service and hospitality.
